Rainbow Snippets is a Facebook group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction, a WIP or a book recommendation.

Elouise Jackson has just completed her first term as a newly qualified teacher. She’s exhausted, it’s cold outside, but she’s decided to shake off tiredness and enjoy a night out. She’s glad she made the effort. This is the night she first meets Ren…

The fresh air tasted delicious after the staleness inside the pub but it was bitterly cold.

“It’s snowing, see?” Ren pointed to the streetlamps where tiny silvery flakes danced on the breeze.

“Oh, yeah… God, it’s cold.”

Ren slid her arm around me and whispered, “Better?”

I gasped, the close contact sending my heart racing.
